An international move changes a family.

The logistics are easy to manage. But no one hands you a checklist for the human part to help your child settle in.

Global Adapt walks alongside families through exactly that: changing international education experiences, one life at a time.

This is for you if

  • Your family is preparing for a move and wants more than a relocation checklist.

  • You have a child whose previous transitions were harder than they should have been.

  • Your teenager is heading overseas to study, and you want them genuinely supported as they go.

  • Your child is neurodivergent or has additional needs, and you're worried about how a new study place will support them.

  • You've already moved and settling is proving harder than expected.

Whether you're moving to Australia, returning to Europe, taking up a posting in Asia or sending a child overseas to study, we bring practical structure and genuine lived understanding to the transition. We help your child move between cultures in a formative, not with lasting harm.

Children who grow up between worlds often feel they belong everywhere and nowhere; with the right support at the right time, that in-between can become one of their greatest strengths.

Our Family Offers

Pre-Departure Family & Student Support

Support- if any- usually happens upon arrival.

We help differently. You and your child are prepared for what lies ahead before the move. We map the first 90 days in the destination - what to expect, what will feel strange, what will settle - and spell out what they're leaving and how to stay connected to it.

Included

  • One 90-minute session online via Zoom, with parents, the child, or the whole family together.

  • 1 or more session, depending on your needs.

  • A guided "first 90 days" map of the destination.

  • Written summary of the session.

  • A 30-day follow-up email check-in.

  • Delivered in English, French, or Russian. Trusted translators available.

Transition Coaching Support

Structured, non-clinical coaching across the adjustment phases, meeting the family at the moments research shows matter most.

Adjustment is a family process, so parents and children are supported together.

Included

  • Structured, non-clinical coaching sessions - 50 minutes each, online.

  • Possible multi-session support across the adjustment phases - orientation, the predictable middle and the rebuilding of routine and belonging.

  • Written summary of the session(s) with key activities suggestions.

Adolescent Mentoring (Overseas Study)

A constant, non-judgemental adult alongside your young person while they study or live abroad: identity, friendship, independence, academic acculturation and decision-making, within a clear confidentiality framework agreed at the outset.

Monthly retainer from AUD $480, three-month minimum.

Included

  • Two 50-minute mentoring sessions per month, one-to-one with the young person. Minimum 3 months commitment.

  • Asynchronous check-ins (email, text) answered within two working days.

  • Written support for the young person, where needed.

  • A written confidentiality framework agreed at the outset with both parents and the young person.

  • A brief monthly engagement summary to parents, confirming themes and engagement, not session content.

  • Safety disclosures managed under that agreed framework, in line with Australian mandatory-reporting expectations.

Crossings - Neurodiverse and SEN Mobility Support

For families moving a neurodivergent child, where every country supports difference differently. Disclosure strategy, accommodation mapping across school systems, and executive-function support for the first 90 days.

Never a replacement for your clinical team.

Included

  • An initial 90-minute consultation, plus a written summary with recommended next steps.

  • A disclosure strategy for the new country and school.

  • Accommodation mapping across curricula and school / higher-ed systems.

  • Executive-function support for the first 90 days.

  • Family rhythm guidance.

  • Clinical-specialist mapping in the destination country (who to find, and how).

  • Extended packages available.

The CARRY Framework

We developed a simple and flexible methodology we call CARRY to suit your child. Because everyone is unique.

A note on what we are: this is coaching and advisory, not therapy. Global Adapt does not provide clinical mental-health care but if that becomes the primary need, we'll help you find the right clinician in your child’s country of residence.
