The Story of Global Adapt

Global Adapt began with a stubborn observation: the world has become very good at moving people across borders, and not nearly good enough at caring for them in the long, non-linear journey of transition.

Global Adapt aims to empower not only students in transition, but also secondary and tertiary institutions in helping create systems of belonging that endure.

Natasha’s work draws on her decade-long career in international and economic development with organisations such as OECD, UNODC and various NGOs, her seven years of teaching and leading at international schools, and current practice inside an Australian independent school.

Global Adapt is the advisory Natasha wished had existed: an independent practice at the intersection of international education, mobility, belonging and inclusion - one that designs for the human in it.

We believe that, with enough care and intention, transition can become transformation.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, our services transcend physical borders.

Meet the Team

Natasha Tereshchenko

Natasha has spent her life between worlds - an educator, international development expert and anthropologist who has lived in ten countries, travelled to seventy, and learned to belong, and not belong, in five languages.

Natasha has spent six years inside international classrooms as teacher and leader in the UK, Myanmar, India and beyond. Working with students at the intersection of international education, cultural transition, identity and neuroinclusion, she realised that students don’t often know where and how to belong, and programs often focus on enrolment, not long-term support.

That’s why Global Adapt was born.

Natasha works in English, French, Spanish, Russian, and Greek.

Natasha is a member of IEAA and ISANA, and a speaker at various international education conferences.

  • We believe education works best when it's designed around the human in it.

    So we walk alongside schools, universities and families through the whole arc of a transition, because belonging is built over time, not in a single session. Our work blends evidence-informed strategy and program design, grounded in years of living and working across cultures and education systems. Everything we do is trauma-informed, culturally responsive and inclusive by design, because the children and people most affected by global mobility are often the least likely to be seen.

  • Global Adapt is an independent advisory, not an education agent.

    We are not paid commissions to recruit or place students, and we never will be.

    Our only commitment is to the people and institutions who engage us: schools, universities and globally mobile families. That independence is deliberate, because advice you can trust shouldn't be shaped by who pays a referral fee.

    We're transparent about what we are and what we're not, we work only within our expertise and refer on when something sits outside it, we disclose any conflict of interest, and we hold ourselves to current standards in child safety, inclusion and privacy. In a sector being reshaped by reform and rising expectations of integrity, we think education should be done thoughtfully, ethically, and with the human at the centre of it.

    We measure success not by enrolments, but by whether students and families actually belong, and by whether the systems we help you build still serve people long after we've gone.

  • We work with two kinds of clients, under one philosophy.

    For schools and universities, we help internationalise thoughtfully rather than just commercially - building programs where international students genuinely belong, designing neuroinclusive and trauma-aware systems, and strengthening the cultural and pastoral side of education, not only the academic. Belonging, retention and inclusion are what we work for.

    For globally mobile families, we help navigate the hardest parts of raising children across borders - culture shock, repeated transitions, the neurodiverse child for whom every new school is a crisis, and the teenager who belongs everywhere and nowhere.

    Wherever you sit, the common ground is the same: education that helps people move well, and feel at home.
